We have facilities to study vibrations qualitatively and wave propagations in systems understanding the structural dynamics in applications involving:

    • Aeroespace

    • Mechanical

    • Civil Structures

The SHM lab utilizes a combination of several actuators and sensing, with data acquisition and signal processing for damage detection and quantification in metallic and composite structures.

Some facilities:

  • DAQ boards from LMS, m+p, and National Instruments

  • Accelerometers, PZTs, PVDFs, strain gauges, etc.

  • Laser doppler vibrometer

  • ICP Load cells

  • Electrodynamics shakers of several sizes and loading

  • Impact hammers for modal tests

  • Signal conditioners and amplifiers

  • Oscilloscopes and signals generators

  • Thermal chamber
